Babies_12wks_ABC

WEEK 12
This will be the last ultrasound for a few weeks. We didn't get a good picture of Baby C this week as this seems to be the one who is camera shy!
|

WEEK 14

14 weeks

WEEK 14
Everyone is measuring fine and Anna's morning sickness is easing up a bit.

Here are the babies with their strong heartbeats

WEEK 15

15 Weeks heads

WEEK 15
Anna went to see the Dr. this week because of pain in her abdomen they think it is caused by scar tissue from her last surgery. All the babies look good!

Here's a head shot of all .......three heads are better than one!!

|

WEEK 16

cerclage

WEEK 16
Anna had a cerclage done this week. This is were they put a stitch in the cervix to keep it from opening. With the pressure of three babies it is not uncommon for the cervix to open early and we sure don't want those babies falling out! This means that Anna is off work again for a few weeks. The procedure is done same day surgery and she was given a spinal to numb her from the waist down. It took all for 30-40 minutes and she was a real trooper. She had light spotting and minimal cramping afterwards which is normal.

WEEK 17

WEEK 17
This week we had another quick scan, ok it wasn't all that quick as our ultrasound tech Karen was trying her best to see the sexes of the babies. But after having just finishing the 3 hour blood glucose test those babies were all over the place. Karen is sure Baby "A" is a boy and she is pretty sure baby "B" is a girl and she thinks baby "C" is a girl but with "A" getting his head in the way and "C" jumping all over she won't lay money down on that one! We have another full 90min scan May 21,2002 so hopefully we will know for sure then...........THANKS KAREN!!

Anna did not pass her blood glucose test which mean she now has Gestational Diabetes. So she now has to really watch what she eats and cut down on the carbohydrates which make the blood sugar jump all over the place. She also has to test her blood 5 times a day. If she can control her blood sugar with diet she will not need to take insulin. Our nurse Linda did a great job explaining what we need to do and we feel confident we can get control of this.

WEEK 18

ELEANOR "ELLIE" ANNimage_2

WEEK 18
Anna had her 90 minute scan this week. In this scan they check to make sure everything is working properly and that they are growing as they should.  She was also told she couldn't go back to work and she can't be on her feet for more than 30min. at a time.

They are all growing as they should but they did find that baby "B" had a very slow heart rate they think this may be caused by  CCHB- Complete Congenital Heart Block

Heart block is an irregular or abnormally slow heart rate. The slow heart rate occurs when the electrical signal is stopped before it causes the lower heart chambers to pump blood to the body.

At this point there is not much we can do except educate ourselves and pray. After birth we will be able to determine the severity of the heart block and what actions need to be taken. A pacemaker maybe inserted if the heart block is bad enough.

Also Anna is on modified bed rest so no going back to work for her!!

WEEK 20

WEEK 20
This week Anna had a quick scan on Tuesday to see if everyone was moving and they were. Sorry no pictures this time!

Her cervix was 3 1/4cm in length and Liam Baby A was pushing down on the first cerclage.

Early Friday morning Anna went to the bathroom and discovered she was spotting, she called the on call Dr. and they asked if she was having contraction? Hummmm??? how would we really know?? Anna said she was uncomfortable but no cramping. They told her to take 600mg ibuprofen to relax the uterus  and to call the office in the morning. She called the next day and they told her to remain in bed and see Dr. Kline next Tuesday.  She has since talked to Dr. Kline and she has told her to do the same and to call if she gets menstrual like cramps.
|

WEEK 21

21 weeks Ellie

WEEK 21
This week Dr. Kline checked Anna's cervix to see what may have caused last weeks spotting. The cerclage was holding strong and was still a good length.  We also were also able to get a good heartbeat on Ellie and it was beating in the normal range, so our fingers are crossed that her heart was just immature when the last U/S was taken.

We were witness to the girls fighting... it looked like something out of a karate movie, Ellie (baby B) was kicking the heck out of Darby (baby C) finally Darby flipped over and started kicking back with a mule kick technique. We just had to sit there a laugh!

WEEK 22
This week Anna had a full scan. The babies are all doing great measuring right on target and weighing in at the 1lb range. The pictures we got this time were of their faces, they are starting to develop the fat so they no longer look like the rock group "KISS" as Anna would say. I have circled their faces to help you see it better. Our Tech Karen is sure baby "C" Darby has Anna's facial structure it will be fun to see if she is right. Also the bright lines in the middle of the face is the nose.

WEEK 24

4thofjuly-1_e0-1

WEEK 24
Just a quick scan this week no pictures!

Everyone is doing great, hearts a beating and jumping around.

Anna has been told to continue modified bedrest, out of a 24 hour day she can be "up" for 6 hours,  With most of those in a reclining position. She can go to the store (with a wheelchair) or to friends houses. But no long walks.

We feel lucky, as most in this situation are on full bedrest at this point.

Although the babies are "viable" at this point it is important to get these babies to 28 weeks where the outcome of their premature birth is better.  Of course we would really like to get to 34 weeks so everyone pray for Sept. 12th to get here fast!! Anything past that date is gravy!!!

The next appointment is July 16th so stay tuned..........

WEEK 27

WEEK 27
Anna is still doing good and babies are kicking around. I was finally able to feel them this past weekend...that was so awesome!!!
|

WEEK 28

Mom B

WEEK 28
No Pictures this week Anna is doing great getting bigger everyday. The Dr. is very happy with her progress. Next week we go for a NST- Non stress test, basically they hook her belly up to monitors to see movement and to check for contractions that Anna maybe missing. We also get to tour the NICU to prepare us in the event the babies are born soon.

We have hit the critical date for our babies!!! 28 weeks has a very good chance of survival. But of course we want them to cook a little longer!

My sister Claire found this picture of my Mom pregnant with me, what a hoot don't you love those glasses?

|

WEEK 29

WEEK 29
Anna has not been feeling well and it turned out she had a UTI (urinary track infection) so now she is going thru another round of antibiotics.

On Wednesday Anna had a non stress test and passed with flying colors. True to form Liam and Ellie passed with in a few minutes but Darby the one who doesn't move as much took a little longer. Also she had no contraction so we are doing really well!

We visited the NICU and were very impressed they have a few triplet rooms, so all the babies will be in the same room each with their own monitors and cribs. The room is big enough for both of us to stay the night with the babies. It is a very nice setup. The NICU nurse said  Anna looked really good for 29 weeks so we take that as a good sign.

Next week we have another growth scan so stay tuned !!!
